CorgisHave you ever seen a dog with the ears of a chihouhou, the body of a daucshound, and the snout of a german shepherd? Well, that dog was probaly a corgi.

History
Cardigan corgis are from Cardiganshire. Corgis are related to Keeshonds, Schipperkes, Pomeranians, and Swedish Vallhunds. They were bred for herding. That is why today they are herding group.

Apperence

Corgis are not the Frankenstien looking dog you probaly imagined in my rough description in the intoduction. They are small, short dogs with short legs. Their ears are are shaped like the ears of a fox. Their bodies are long but not as long as a douchshound. By the way, not all corgis have tails. The ones that do have tails are called Cardigan Corgis. The ones without tails are called Pembroke Corgis. They can have alot of different coat color combonations. They can have fawn and white, red and white, sable and white, or they could have tricolors. They have a double coat that is water resitant. Cardigans have bigger ears and their ears are closer together than Pembroke's. Pembrokes have shorter bodies and are lighter than Cardigans.

Health

Corgis are very active dogs and put on weight easily. They tend to get glacoma and back disorders easily. They can have 1-10 puppies at a time but 6 is average. Their life span is 12-15 years.

Temperment

Corgis are not vicious or shy and they are very smart. Being smart makes them easy to train. They aren't really dependent or independent but can get lonely if left alone. They are good with kids, non-canines, other corgis, but can be agressive with other dogs.
